Jafnréttishús/Equality Centre has a good cooperation with private companies as well as the public sector. The centre is a member of the Hafnarfjörður city committee and active partner with social services and the Red Cross.
Jafnréttishús/Equality Centre has also build a good cooperation with partners in Europe such as the Grundtvig, Erasmus+ and Nordplus.
Nordplus Project September (2013 -2014)
The title of the project is Motivated, Creative, and Modern Teacher – the Base of Successful Adult
Project is based on deliberative, instructional adult educators’ mobilities. In the frameworks of project participants will be educated in topics related to adult education to make every participator more motivated, creative and modern to improve process of adult education and adult students’ benefits. It will be reached by intensive course provided by each project partner who is experienced professional in adult education. Every course consists of theory, assignments, discussions, observations of lessons and educational work, practising in every partner’s institution. Project is significant opportunity to exchange with experience and to train educators of adults to acquire new methods, competences, to perfect and deepen teacher knowledge about education systems, and culture in Nordic/Baltic countries. Project promotes updating of existing courses, creating of new courses, resignation of school curriculum, and creation of new institutional linkages between Nordic/ Baltic countries for continuous corporation in the future. Each theme of course is selected advisedly and relevant for adult education. Activities are focused on improving work of educators and institutions of adult education in Baltic/ Nordic countries. It will be achieved by cooperation and interaction between project partners. We are ready to learn from each other and join forces to meet mutual needs and challenges. We believe that this project will help us to reach our general aim: development of quality.
